Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the shift control knob/closeout boot. Refer to Shift Control Knob/Closeout Boot Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Removing Sound Insulator Foam Block

  2. Remove the sound insulator foam block from the console.

  3. Remove the electrical connector (1) from the shift control adaptor plate (2).
  4. Position the electrical connector (1) out of the way.

  5. Remove the 2 bolts (2) attaching the shift control assembly to the shift control adaptor plate.
  6. Remove the 4 nuts (1) securing the shift control adaptor plate to the tunnel reinforcement.

  7. Remove the shift control boot and adaptor plate assembly from the vehicle.
