Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement (CTS) or Clutch Assembly Replacement (CTS-V) in Clutch.
  2. Remove the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Removal .

  3. Remove the oil pan-to-rear cover bolts.

  4. Remove the rear cover bolts.
  5. Remove the rear cover and gasket. Refer to Engine Rear Cover Removal .
  6. Discard the rear cover gasket.
  7. Clean and inspect the engine rear cover. Refer to Engine Rear Cover Cleaning and Inspection .
