Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Left .
    2. Fig 2: View Of Intake Manifold & Engine

  2. Position the engine wire harness ground strap to the cylinder head.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the engine wiring harness ground bolt to the rear of the left cylinder head.

    Tighten:  Tighten the engine wire harness ground bolt to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

  4. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Left (LS6) in Engine Exhaust.
  5. Install the power steering pump and bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (5.7L) in Power Steering System.
  6. Install the engine coolant air bleed pipe. Refer to Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  7. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  8. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
