Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Installation

    IMPORTANT: Follow the procedure sequence in order to prevent drive belt mis-alignment and/or possible damage/distortion to the components.

  1. Place the A/C compressor bracket in position to the cylinder block.
  2. Loosely install the A/C compressor bracket bolts.

  4. Place the A/C compressor in position to the A/C compressor bracket.
  5. Loosely install the A/C compressor bolts through the A/C compressor and A/C compressor bracket into the engine block.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Tighten the A/C compressor bracket center bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the A/C compressor bracket center bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  8. Tighten the A/C compressor bracket upper bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the A/C compressor bracket upper bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  9. Tighten the A/C compressor bracket lower bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the A/C compressor bracket lower bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  10. Tighten the A/C compressor front upper and lower bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the A/C compressor front upper and lower bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  11. Tighten the A/C compressor rear bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the A/C compressor rear bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
