Draining Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid temperature sensor/drain plug area.
  3. Place a suitable drain pan under the transmission.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the transmission fluid temperature sensor/drain plug.

  6. Remove the fluid temperature sensor/drain plug (4).
  7. Allow the system to drain.
  8. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  9. Install the transmission fluid temperature sensor/drain plug (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the transmission fluid temperature sensor/drain plug to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  10. Connect the electrical connector to the transmission fluid temperature sensor/drain plug.
