Installation Procedure

  1. If removed, inspect the reverse lockout assembly O-ring. Replace the reverse lockout assembly O-ring if necessary.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the reverse lockout assembly and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the reverse lockout assembly bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  4. Install the reverse lockout solenoid using the J 41099  . See Special Tools and Equipment . Inspect and replace the O-ring if necessary.

    Tighten:  Tighten the reverse lockout solenoid to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  6. Connect the reverse lockout solenoid electrical connector (5).
  7. Install the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
  8. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
  9. Remove the transmission jack.
  10. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LA3, LY9) , Exhaust System Replacement (LY7) and Exhaust System Replacement (LS6) in Engine Exhaust.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
