Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Retainer Replacement .
  2. Remove the HVAC ducts. Refer to Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Upper Left , Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Upper Right , and Defroster Duct Replacement - Windshield in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  4. On vehicles with a manual shift transmission, loosen the nuts (2) on the pedal bracket.
  5. Remove the parking brake pedal assembly. Refer to Park Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement (LHD)Park Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement (RHD) in Park Brake.

  7. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, loosen the 2 nuts (1) securing the brake pedal bracket to the carrier.
  8. IMPORTANT: Note the location and routing of the wiring harness and harness retainers.
  9. Disconnect all electrical wire retainers from the carrier assembly.

  11. Remove the nuts securing the carrier to the cowl.
  12. Remove the carrier assembly.
