Installation Procedure

  1. Install the carrier assembly.
  2. Fig 1: Removing & Installing Carrier-To-Cowl Nuts

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolts securing the carrier to the cowl.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the nuts securing the carrier to the firewall under the A pillar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect all electrical wire retainers to the carrier assembly.

  7. On vehicles with a manual shift transmission, loosen the nuts (2) on the pedal bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the parking brake pedal assembly. Refer to Park Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement (LHD)Park Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement (RHD) in Park Brake.

  10. Install the 2 nuts (1) securing the brake pedal bracket to the cowl.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the HVAC ducts. Refer to Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Upper Left , Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Upper Right , andDefroster Duct Replacement - Windshield in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  12. Install the I/P retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Retainer Replacement .
