Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to ZONE 3 and ZONE 5 in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad. Refer to TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER   . 
  3. Remove the I/P cluster trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER   . 
  4. Remove the screws from the accessory trim panel.

  5. Remove the PSIR module. Refer to AIR BAG MODULES in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  6. Remove the two screws from the straps at the carrier.

  7. Pull rearward on the trim panel in order to disengage the three retainers, and remove the trim plate.
