Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Remove the driver's side sound insulator. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT (LHD)   or CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT (RHD)   or to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT RIGHT (LHD)   or CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (RHD)   . 
  2. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - KNEE BOLSTER   . 
  3. Remove the data link connector (DLC) from the knee bolster.
  4. Remove the 4 fasteners (2) that secure the knee bolster bracket to the lower I/P.

  5. Remove the knee bolster bracket (3).
