Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to ZONE 3 and ZONE 5 in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER   . 
  3. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the defroster grille to the I/P carrier.

  4. Partially remove the defroster grille in order to disconnect the sunload sensors from the defroster grille. Refer to SUNLOAD AND TWILIGHT SENTINEL SENSOR REPLACEMENT   . 
  5. Remove the defroster grille (3).
