Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Cleaning and Inspection

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Yukon XL, 2004 GMC Yukon, 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Do not use the engine coolant air bleed pipe and cover gaskets again. Upon installation of the pipe and covers, install NEW gaskets.
  1. Remove the sealing gaskets from the pipe.
  2. Remove the sealing gaskets from the covers.

  4. Clean the pipe (307), hose (311), and covers in solvent.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Dry the pipe and covers with compressed air.
  7. Inspect the pipe and covers for damage or restrictions.
  8. Inspect the gasket and hose sealing surfaces for damage.
  9. Inspect the hose (311) for restrictions, cracking or wear.

    The hose may be used again if it is not damaged.
