Installation Procedure

  1. Install the carrier assembly.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts securing the carrier to the cowl.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (8 lb in).

  3. Install the nuts securing the carrier to the firewall under the A pillar.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (8 lb in).

  4. Connect all electrical wire retainers to the carrier assembly.

  5. Install the 2 nuts (1) securing the brake pedal bracket to the cowl.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. On vehicles with a manual shift transmission, loosen the nuts (2) on the pedal bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the parking brake pedal assembly. Refer to PARK BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
  8. Install the HVAC ducts. Refer to AIR OUTLET DUCT REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) - UPPER LEFT , AIR OUTLET DUCT REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) - UPPER RIGHT , DEFROSTER DUCT REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD .
  9. Install the I/P retainer. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) RETAINER REPLACEMENT  .
