Cargo Door Ajar Indicator Always On

Schematic Reference: Body Rear End Schematics 
1 Did you perform the Body Rear End Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Rear End 
2 Close the cargo doors or the lift glass.
Is the cargo door ajar indicator illuminated?
Go to Step 3  Go to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool command the cargo door ajar indicator ON and OFF.
Does the indicator turn on and off with each command?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 11

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF
  3. With a scan tool observe the cargo door ajar indicator or the lift glass ajar indicator parameter.
Does the scan tool display inactive?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the cargo door or lift glass ajar switches one at a time.
  2. After each switch is disconnected observe the switch status on the scan tool.
Does the scan tool display inactive for any of the switches?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 6 
6 Test the cargo door or lift glass ajar switch(s) signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to CIRCUIT TESTING and TESTING FOR SHORT TO GROUND .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 12  Go to Step 7 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM). Refer to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS and CONNECTOR REPAIRS .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 12  Go to Step 9 
8 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the cargo door or lift glass ajar switch(s). Refer to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS and CONNECTOR REPAIRS .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 12  Go to Step 10

IMPORTANT: When replacing the BCM refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) PROGRAMMING/RPO CONFIGURATION .
Replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT .Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 12  -
10 Replace the faulty cargo door or lift glass ajar switch(s). Refer to Latch Replacement - Liftgate  or Latch Replacement - Door (Cargo Door Lower)  or Latch Replacement - Door (Cargo Door Upper) .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 12  -
11 Replace the instrument panel cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 12  -
12 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
