Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Description and Operation: Odometer

The IPC contains a season odometer and a trip odometer. The IPC calculates the mileage based on the vehicle speed signal circuit from the PCM. The mileage is stored in the EEPROM. The odometer will display `error' if an EEPROM failure is detected. Pressing the TRIP RESET (YES) button of the driver information center (DIC) for greater than 2 seconds resets the trip odometer. The odometer displays either miles or kilometers as requested by pressing the INFO (SKIP) button of the DIC in order to scroll to the ENGLISH/METRIC parameter. Briefly pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button of the DIC will command the km or the MI indicator to illuminate in the IPC.
