Park Brake System

  1. Install a scan tool. Does the scan tool power up? If so, go to next step. If not, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Attempt to establish communication with the following modules:
    • Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
    • Rear Integration Module (RIM).
    Does the scan tool communicate with all control modules? If so, go to next step. If not, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  3. Select the display DTCs function on the scan tool for the following modules:
    • Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
    • Rear Integration Module (RIM).
    Does the scan tool display any DTCs? If so, go to next step. If not, then repair by symptom. See SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKE  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. Does the scan tool display any DTCs which begin with a "U"? If so, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If not, go to next step.
  5. Does the scan tool display DTC B1004, B1007, or B1009? If so, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If not, go to next step.
  6. Does the scan tool display DTC B1327, B1328, B1513, or B1514? If so, see appropriate ENGINE PERFORMANCE article. If not, then system is okay at this time.
