Park Brake Shoe: Installation
- Clean the debris and the dust from the park brake components using a clean shop towel. Align the slots in both the adjusting screw and tappet to be parallel with the backing plate face. Position the park brake shoe on the inboard side of the actuator. Slide the parking brake shoe into position and seat into the retaining spring. See Fig 1
.
- Inspect the shoe assembly position. The shoe must be central on the backing plate with both tips located in the slots. Adjust the park brake shoe.
- Install the brake rotor. See REAR BRAKE ROTOR
. Install the rear brake caliper bracket. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET
. Install the rear brake caliper. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER
.
- Install the park brake cable to the park brake lever. Connect the front park brake cable to the connector.
- Install the tire and wheel. Lower the vehicle.
