Removal (Standard Duty)

  1. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent; Do Not disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  .
  2. Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket. Remove the brake pad retainers from the brake caliper bracket. See Figure .
  3. Remove the brake caliper bracket bolts. Remove the brake caliper bracket.
  4. Use a wire brush to clean any debris or rust from the brake caliper bracket. Inspect the brake mounting and hardware. See DISC BRAKE HARDWARE  .
  5. Inspect the brake caliper bracket for cracks or damage. Replace the brake caliper bracket if cracked or damaged.
