Removal - Front (Standard Duty)

  1. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent. Discard the old caliper pin bolts, NEW bolts are supplied in the hardware kit. It is not necessary to disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  .
  2. Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket. Remove the brake pad retainers from the brake caliper bracket.
  3. Remove the brake caliper bracket. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET  . Mount the brake caliper bracket in a vise. Using a flat bladed tool or punch carefully remove the caliper pin boots from brake caliper bracket and discard.
  4. NOTE: Wipe the old grease from the brake caliper pin bolts with a clean shop towel.
  5. Inspect the brake caliper bracket for cracks. If cracked, replace bracket.
  6. Apply a thin coat of NIGLUBE(R) to the following:
    • Apply a thin coat of NIGLUBE(R) to the bores.
    • Apply a thin coat of NIGLUBE(R) to the inside of the pin boots.
    • Apply a thin coat of NIGLUBE(R) to the NEW caliper pin bolts.
    Install NEW caliper pin bolt boots to the caliper.
  7. Install the brake caliper bracket. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET  . Install the brake pad retainers to the caliper bracket. Install the brake pads to the caliper bracket.
  8. Remove the heavy mechanics wire. Install the brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  .
