Test S: Fog Light Indicator Always On
- If lighting systems diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting systems diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform LIGHTING SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn fog lights off. If fog lights turn off, go to next step. If fog lights remain illuminated, repair fog lights as necessary. See appropriate HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS & DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS article.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, near steering column. Using scan tool, select special functions in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and perform displays test. Observe fog light indicator during displays test. If fog light indicator does not illuminate during displays test, then turn off, go to next step. If fog light indicator illuminates during displays test, then turns off, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING .
- Inspect IPC harness connector for poor connections. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair IPC harness connector as necessary. After repair, go to step 6 .
- Replace IPC, then go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating correctly, repeat test beginning at step 2 .
