Test P: Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Always On
- If engine cooling diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If engine cooling diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform ENGINE COOLING DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Ensure engine coolant temperature gauge is operating correctly. If engine coolant temperature gauge is operate correctly, go to next step. If engine coolant temperature gauge is not operating correctly, repair engine coolant temperature gauge as necessary. Perform TEST A: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE INACCURATE OR INOPERATIVE .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe engine coolant temperature indicator during bulb check. If engine coolant temperature indicator does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step. If engine coolant temperature indicator illuminates during bulb check, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING .
- Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). After repair, go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating correctly, repeat test beginning at step 2 .
