Test AE: Security Indicator Inoperative

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to RUN position. Observe SECURITY indicator during bulb check. If SECURITY indicator does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step. If SECURITY indicator illuminates during bulb check, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
  3. Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). After repair, go to next step.
  4. Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating correctly, repeat test beginning at step  2 .
