Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, near steering column. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, perform TEST A: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - SEVILLE article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Instrument Panel Module (IPM) and radio. If scan tool communicate with IPM and radio, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with IPM and radio, perform TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - SEVILLE article.
  3. Using scan tool, select DTCs function for IPM and radio. If scan tool displays any DTCs for IPM and radio, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs for IPM and radio, repair instrument panel by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
  4. If scan tool does not display any DTCs which begin with "U", go to next step. If scan tool displays any DTCs which begin with "U", perform TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - SEVILLE article.
  5. If scan tool does not display DTCs B1000, B1004, B1007, B1009, B1556, B1652, B1656, B1658 or B1805, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTCs B1000, B1004, B1007, B1009, B1556, B1652, B1656, B1658 or B1805, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved.   6. If scan tool does not display DTCs B1327, B1328, B1513, B1514, B1982, B1983, P0560, P0562, P0563, P0615, P0621 or P0622, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. If scan tool displays DTCs B1327, B1328, B1513, B1514, B1982, B1983, P0560, P0562, P0563, P0615, P0621 or P0622, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved.
