Test W: Lights On Indicator Always On
- If lighting systems diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting systems diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform LIGHTING SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn parking lights on. If parking lights operate correctly, go to next step. If parking lights do not operate correctly, repair parking lights as necessary. See appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is below left side of instrument panel, near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select special functions in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and perform displays test. Observe LIGHTS ON indicator during displays test. If LIGHTS ON indicator illuminates during displays test and does not turn off, go to next step. If LIGHTS ON indicator illuminates during displays test, then turns off, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING .
- Replace IPC, then go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating correctly, repeat test beginning at step 2 .
