Fasten Safety Belt Indicator

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illuminates fasten safety belt indicator when this occurs:

• Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) detects that driver's seat belt is unbuckled when ignition switch is turned to RUN position. IPC receives a class 2 message from SDM requesting illumination. IPC illuminates indicator for 72 seconds or until driver's seat belt is buckled. IPC sends a class 2 message to activate an audible warning.
• SDM detects that driver's seat belt is unbuckled after ignition switch is turned to RUN position. IPC receives a class 2 messages from SDM requesting illumination. IPC illuminated indicator for 72 seconds or until driver's seat belt is buckled.
• IPC performs a displays test at start of each ignition cycle. Indicator illuminates for approximately 4 seconds.
