Engine Coolant

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illuminates engine coolant indicator and sends a class 2 message to activate an audible warning when this occurs:

• IPC determines that coolant temperature is 262°F (128°C) or more. IPC receives a class 2 message from Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating coolant temperature.
• IPC performs a displays test at start of each ignition cycle. Indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.

IPC turns off engine coolant indicator when engine coolant falls below 257°F (125°C).
