Cellular Telephone Indicators: Notes

An integrated cellular telephone is an available vehicle option. When equipped, cellular telephone displays are integrated into instrument cluster to allow display of phone status information on Driver's Information Center (DIC). Telephone displays on DIC are intended to resemble information displayed on cellular telephone handset, so driver can perform hands-free operation of cellular telephone. IPC and cellular telephone communicate through class 2 serial data messages. IPC control information on DIC and driver warning messages will interrupt telephone displays because of a higher priority. Most cellular telephone displays on DIC are displayed due to requests by cellular telephone through class 2 serial data messages.
