Door Ajar Warning

Radio activates door ajar audible warning as requested by Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). IPC sends a class 2 message to radio indicating chime frequency (medium rate) and duration (continuous). Door ajar warning sounds and appropriate door ajar indicator illuminates in Driver's Information Center (DIC) when this occurs:

• Driver's Door Module (DDM) determines that a door is open (signal is low). IPC receives a class 2 message from DDM indicating door ajar status.
• Vehicle is not in Park. IPC receives a class 2 message from Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating gear position.
• Vehicle speed is 3 MPH or more. IPC uses vehicle speed signal circuit (4000 pulses/mile) from PCM to calculate vehicle speed.
