Test An: Security Indicator Inoperative

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check was not performed, see THEFT DETERRENT MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition off. Observe security indicator on instrument cluster during 5 second bulb check. If security indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If security indicator does illuminate, problem is intermittent, repair wiring or connections.
  3. Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. After repairs, recheck operation of security indicator. If security indicator operates properly, repair is complete. If security indicator does not operate properly, return to step  2.
