Removal & Installation

  1. Disable air bag system. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower steering column trim cover retaining screws. Remove lower steering column trim cover from steering column closeout shroud.
  2. On models without power tilt/telescope column, remove tilt lever handle. On all models, remove column upper and lower shrouds. Disconnect Steering Column Module (SCM) harness connectors. Open lower wire shield and remove wiring harness, noting placement and direction of wires.
  3. Remove associated wire harness straps. Remove multifunction switch wire harness assembly from harness strap.
  4. On all models, disconnect multifunction switch harness connectors. Remove multifunction switch screws. Remove multifunction switch.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure electrical contact is resting on turn signal cancel cam assembly. Tighten fasteners to specification.
