Removal & Installation (Shifter Handle)

NOTE: Traction control switch is part of shift lever. Shift lever must be replaced if traction control switch is faulty.
  1. Remove steering column hush panel located below steering column. Remove 2 TORX(R) head screws from lower steering column cover. Remove 2 steering column retaining nuts and lower steering column. Remove lower steering column cover.
  2. Remove TORX(R) head screws from steering column upper cover and remove. Disconnect single wire harness connector for shift lever at base of steering column. Remove wire from clip on the side of ignition and key alarm switch assembly. See Fig 1.
  3. Slide shift lever seal up shift lever and remove shift lever screw. Remove shift lever from steering column. Remove shift lever seal from shift lever. To install, reverse removal procedure.
