Removal (Upper)

  1. Pull the windshield pillar garnish molding away from the windshield pillar to disengage the retainer clips. Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. See Figure. Remove all instrument panel outlet vents. SeeINSTRUMENT PANEL AIR OUTLET VENT  Go to next step.
  2. Remove the defroster grille. Use a flat bladed tool to pry upward on the rear edge of the defroster grille to release retaining clips from the IP upper trim pad. See Figure. Disconnect the sunload sensor harness connector. Pull up on the rear edge, and then rearward, in order to remove the defroster grille. See Figure. Go to next step.
  3. Remove the 4 screws from the inside of the vent outlet holes to upper pad. See Figure. Remove the 3 screws from the inside of the defroster grille outlet holes to upper pad. See Figure. Lift the upper IP pad upward from rear edge of the IP cluster in order to disengage the retainers from IP cluster trim plate. Disconnect harness connectors if necessary. Lift pad on an angle and slide rearward in order to disengage the retainers at front of IP. Remove the IP upper trim pad from the vehicle.
