Scan Tool Data Definitions: IMS

The scan tool displays PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE 4, DRIVE 3, DRIVE 2, DRIVE 1, or INVALID. If a valid combination of inputs is not received by the PCM, INVALID will be displayed. This display is the decoded status of the 4 A/B/C/P inputs from the automatic transmission internal mode switch.
