Engine Speed

The scan tool displays 0 to 7000 RPM. The IPC monitors the engine speed signal circuit from the PCM.



The scan tool displays 0 to 10000 RPM. The PCM calculates engine speed from ignition reference pulses. The engine speed should remain close to desired idle under various engine loads with engine idling.
