Circuit Description

If this DTC is set, odometer portion of Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) EEPROM, which stores vehicle mileage, has an unrecoverable error. Odometer is no longer accurate. Diagnostic test is performed once every 0.3 second during normal running mode and service diagnostics mode. Diagnostic test is not run when IPC EEPROM is performing read or write operations.

DTC will set when IPC detects an EEPROM error. When DTC is set, IPC displays the word ERROR in the odometer display. DTC will clear when IPC performs a successful write to EEPROM.
