Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check

  1. Connect scan tool. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, see SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article.
  2. Turn ignition on. Try to establish communication with Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) and radio. If scan tool will communicate with IPC, IPM and radio, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with IPC, IPM or radio, see SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article.
  3. Select display DTCs function for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) and radio. If scan tool displays any DTCs for IPC, IPM or radio, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs for IPC, IPM or radio, go to SYSTEM TESTS .
  4. If scan tool does not display any DTCs that begin with a "U", go to next step. If scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with "U", SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article.
  5. If scan tool does not display DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, B1013, B1014, B1390, B1422, B1556, B1656 or B1658, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, B1013, B1014, B1390, B1422, B1556, B1656 or B1658, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article
  6. If scan tool displays DTC B1327, B1328, B1513, B1514, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE article. If scan tool displays P0560, P0562, P0563, P0615, P0621 or P0622, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 4.6L DEVILLE, ELDORADO & SEVILLE article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If scan tool does not display DTC B1327, B1328, B1513, B1514, P0560, P0562, P0563, P0615, P0621 or P0622, diagnose any other DTCs that are present.
