Air Bag

The IPC illuminates the AIR BAG indicator when the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) detects a malfunction with the supplemental inflatable restraint system, IPC receives a class 2 message from the SDM requesting illumination or IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the SDM. The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle and IPC flashes the air bag indicator 7 times.
