Shock Absorbers: Removal

Disconnect negative cable from battery. Disconnect RTD link (if equipped). Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Support lower control arm with jackstand.
On RTD equipped vehicles: Grasp connector lock tabs and rotate RTD until disengaged. SeeFig 1. Disengage connector from tennon by pulling firmly upward. Remove tennon end nut.
On all models, remove shock absorber retaining bolt and nut from lower control arm. Remove shock absorber retaining bolt and nut from frame. Remove shock absorber from vehicle.
