Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passlock™ module connector. Check for continuity between Passlock™ module harness connector terminal A5 (Red/White wire) and ground. See Figure. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, go to step  3.
  2. Replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  5.
  3. Disconnect Passlock™ sensor connector at base of steering column. Check for continuity between Passlock™ module harness connector terminal A5 (Red/White wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See Figure. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in Red/White wire.
  4. Replace Passlock™ sensor. See PASSLOCK™ LOCK CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  5. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
