Continuously Variable Road-Sensing Suspension (CVRSS): Notes

Continuously Variable Road-Sensing Suspension (CVRSS) system changes firmness of vehicle ride. Vehicle ride firmness is determined by how easily the strut or shock absorber can be compressed (damping characteristics). Hydraulic oil for each strut and shock absorber flows through a damper that has 2 different sized orifices, one for firm mode and the other for soft mode. The damper actuator rotates between positions (modes). Damper solenoid actuator is an integral part of each strut and shock absorber, and is not serviceable separately from strut or shock. Damper solenoid actuators respond to command signals from control module. The following are CVRSS components.
