DTC B1557: EEPROM Calibration Error: Description

DTC B1557 will set when Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Message (EEPROM) microprocessor (which stores calibrations for analog gauge, manufacturing information, vehicle option information and VIN) has an unrecoverable error.

When DTC B1557 is set, IPC will use default value for any memory settings in IPC. No warning message will be displayed. DTC requires an ignition cycle to change from current to history. DTC will clear when module no longer detects malfunction.
