DTC B1552: Loss Of Keep Alive Memory (KAM): Description

DTC B1552 indicates that battery-backed or Keep Alive Memory (KAM) has been reset. This occurs when power or ground is removed from Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Disconnecting vehicle battery may set this code.

DTC B1552 will set when there is a short in class 2 serial data line and Platform Zone Module (PZM) attempts to activate low power mode (about 20 minutes after ignition switch is turned to OFF position). If PZM DTC B1552 is also set, a battery disconnection probably occurred.

When DTC B1552 is set, IPC KAM data (trip odometer and timer) is reset to default values.
