Turn Signal Indicators Inoperative - Right

If lighting diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If lighting diagnostic system check was not performed, go to LIGHTING DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
If right turn signal exterior lights operate properly, go to next step. If right turn signal exterior lights do not operate properly, diagnose inoperative turn signals. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Move turn signal lever to right turn position. Using scan tool, select Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) data list. Monitor RIGHT TURN SIGNAL status. If RIGHT TURN SIGNAL status is not ON, go to next step. If RIGHT TURN SIGNAL status is ON, go to step 6 .
Check for open or high resistance in Dark Blue wire between IPC connector C1 terminal B11 and splice S224. See Figure . S224 is located in steering wheel behind air bag module. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 8 .
Check for poor connections at IPC connector. If connections are okay, go to next step. If faulty connections are found and repaired, go to step 8 .
Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SPECIAL FUNCTIONS and perform DISPLAY(S) TEST. Monitor right turn signal indicator during test. If right turn signal indicator comes on during test and then turns off, check for intermittent circuits and connections for right turn signal. If right turn signal indicator does not come on during test and then turn off, go to next step.
Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
After repairs, recheck operation of indicator. If indicator operates properly, repair is complete. If indicator does not operate properly, go to step 2 .
