Setting Of Dimmer Switch To View PRNDL W/Auto Headlight Control

Under certain conditions, if instrument panel dimmer switch is turned low, the PRNDL will not be visible until automatic headlight control turns headlights off and Daytime Running Lights (DRL) turn back on. This may occur if vehicle is started in an environment where headlight control turns headlights on and then vehicle is driven out into a brighter environment (i.e. when a vehicle is backed out of dark garage into daylight). This condition is normal and no repair attempt is necessary. Turn instrument panel dimmer switch to a higher setting. This will enable driver to see PRNDL display.
