Description & Operation

The instrument cluster includes the following components: an array of indicator lights, speedometer with odometer and trip odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, volt gauge, coolant temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge. Since vehicle mileage on odometer cannot be set, an odometer label must be used after replacement of instrument cluster.

The instrument cluster assembly contains the cluster lens, the speedometer/tachometer gauge module and the voltage/oil pressure gauge module. Electrical power is supplied to each gauge via separate wiring harness connectors, and to the appropriate lamps and gauges within each module through flexible printed circuits. The instrument cluster is serviced as either a complete assembly or each gauge module may be serviced separately.

Indicator lights include the following: brake pad wear, brake to shift, CHECK ENGINE, engine coolant temperature warning, fasten seat belt, fog lamps on, fuel cap missing warning, low coolant warning, low fuel warning, low oil level, low oil pressure warning, SECURITY, air bag, sport mode, and automatic transmission warning, and windshield washer solvent level. Audible warnings include: lights on, key in, fasten seat belt and low engine oil pressure.
