Code C1711, C1716, C1721 & C1726: Damper Actuator Short Circuit To Ground
- CODE C1711: Left Front Damper Actuator Short Circuit To Ground
- CODE C1716: Right Front Damper Actuator Short Circuit To Ground
- CODE C1721: Left Rear Damper Actuator Short Circuit To Ground
- CODE C1726: Right Rear Damper Actuator Short Circuit To Ground
- Perform CVRSS system check. See CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK . After performing CVRSS system check, go to next step.
- If Code C1786, C1787 or C1788 is set, go to applicable code for diagnosis. See CODE DESCRIPTION table under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If Code C1786, C1787 or C1788 is not set, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect damper actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals of damper actuator connector (component side). If resistance is 9.5-15.5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9.5-15.5 ohms, go to step 7 .
- Check continuity between damper control circuit (LF=RED, RF=WHT/BLK, LR=RED, RR=YEL) of damper actuator connector (component side) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity exists, go to step 7 . If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Disconnect 32-pin CVRSS control module connector C1. Check continuity between damper control circuit (LF=RED, RF=WHT/BLK, LR=RED, RR=YEL) of CVRSS control module harness connector C1 and ground. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check for intermittent shorts or chafed wires. Turn ignition off. Reinstall/reconnect all components/connectors. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Clear codes, and then wait 90 seconds. Display codes. If Code C1711, C1716, C1721 or C1726 is set, go to step 8 . If Code C1711, C1716, C1721 or C1726 is not set, see NOTES ON INTERMITTENTS under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Replace damper actuator.
- Turn ignition off. Replace CVRSS control module. Reinstall/reconnect all components/connectors. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Calibrate NEW CVRSS control module. See CALIBRATING CVRSS CONTROL MODULE under ADJUSTMENTS.
