Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Always On

Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Select PCM DATA 3 on scan tool display. If scan tool indicates coolant temperature indicator is ON, perform On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) system check. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM CHECK in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If scan tool does not indicate coolant temperature indicator is ON, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
