Speedometer Or Odometer Inoperative

Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Select IPC DATA MENU on scan tool display. Start engine and drive vehicle. If scan tool indicates vehicle speed to be same as speed on speedometer, repair as necessary. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If scan tool does not indicate vehicle speed to be same as speed on speedometer, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
