Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 15 other vehicles, including the 2000 GMC Yukon, 2000 GMC Savana Special, 2000 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2000 GMC Savana, and 2000 GMC Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If Passlock™ module has just been replaced, go to next step. If Passlock™ module has not just been replaced, go to step  3.
  2. Turn ignition switch from OFF to START position. Passlock™ module will learn new code. Recheck system operation.
  3. Check for any other DTCs. Repair all other DTCs prior to diagnosing DTC B3031. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Replace Passlock™ sensor. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING . Clear DTCs and repeat DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC still exists, go to next step. If DTC does not exist, testing is complete.
  5. Replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  6. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
