Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 15 other vehicles, including the 2000 GMC Yukon, 2000 GMC Savana Special, 2000 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2000 GMC Savana, and 2000 GMC Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If Passlock™ sensor has not just been replaced, go to next step. If Passlock™ sensor has just been replaced, go to step 5.
- Turn ignition on. Disconnect Passlock™ sensor connector located at base of steering column. Connect a fused jumper wire (backprobe) between Passlock™ module terminals B3 (Pink wire) and B8 (Orange wire). See Figure. Using scan tool, read data voltage. If voltage is not 4.9-5.0 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.9-5.0 volts, go to step 4.
- Remove jumper wire. Replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 5.
- Remove jumper wire. Replace Passlock™ sensor. See PASSLOCK™ LOCK CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
